Yes. PDFMARKs are used to convey hyperlinks, bookmarks,
and meta-info like author/title/etc to PostScript. After distillation,
you get quite a decent online document (and you can even make
it optimized through Distiller settings).
Note however that there are two things that you lose in PS back-end:
- embeddable TrueType fonts;
- transparency in GIFs and PNGs.
(Embeddable TrueTypes are most likely to appear soon in future
releases: there are no big problems there except for the amount of
dull coding. Transparency is a much harder issue).
