    these images are uploaded by the users of our web applications...
    i suggest the images are produced by the digicam-software of our users but
    i'm not sure.

    the next time this error occurs i'll try to find out wich software was
    used.

    This message may appear when parsing PNG, TIFF, or JPEG images.
    These formats can store data about image resolution. Length units
    to which the resolution is relative are stored in a separate field
    inside the file; there is a closed list of permitted values for this
    field (different for each format). Whenever XEP encounters a value
    that is not in the respective list, it complains.

    Which application do you use to produce images that give you
    these errors?

    Most probably, Photoshop inserts a correct default value into
    the respective field.
