Hello James,
The situation you describe may happen if data in the URL is distorted
somehow or encoded picture is differ from specified mediatype (not
JPEG in your case). Please check everything and make sure you are
using the latest vesion of XEP. If the problem persist - send
problematic SVG document off-list (to support@renderx.com).
