Could it be that the 'font-family' property set on the parent block is not inherited by the table and table-column because it is not
applicable to these elements?
It seems as if the 'default' font-family and font-size [which are 'agent'-specific] are used to set the 6em column width (removing
this surrounding block results in exactly the same column width).
