Here's an entry from a working XEP font configuration file:
<!-- Japanese Gothic font (serif) -->
<font name="HGGothicB"
ttf="japanese.st/typefaces/hgrgb98.ttf"
embed="true">
<alias name="Gothic"/>
</font>
In this case, the font is located relative to the location of the font
configuration file (I ship the fonts and the configuration file together
as part of a cross-platform production support package).
If you're just working off one machine you would normally use an
absolute path the font file, e.g. "C:\windows\fonts\myfont.ttf"
Cheers,
Eliot
