[xep-support] issues with 4.0

Hi,
I've been developing with version 3.8.3 for a few weeks and just got
ahold of the new 4.0 version. After replacing the xep.jar and xt.jar,
and pointing to the right config file I ran my generation process. The
resulting PDF looks identical to the old one, but it is 4664kb (vs
924kb with the old version) and takes 170 seconds to generate (vs 79
seconds with the old version). When I open the PDF it takes a very
long time to render the embedded SVGs and PNGs (vs instantly with the
old version). I haven't changed the default configuration except for
adding some TrueType fonts.
Am I missing something here?
