The enclosed document contains a smallcaps emulator. It is called by:

<xsl:call-template name="smallcaps">
        <xsl:with-param name="str" select="$valuetosmallcap"/>
</xsl:call-template>

It is not elegant but it works.

Hello,

XEP does not support font-variant="small-caps".
FOP and XSLFormatter do.

I've got a document.fo, which has not been attached because of its size.
If this document.fo is transformed by XEP, no small caps appear in the
resulting pdf.
If this same document is transformed by either FOP or XSLFormatter, on
the same system, the desired small caps do indeed appear when viewing
the pdf file.

I request that this feature be supported by XEP too.
