Problem is that we don't own Clark's XT so it's a bigger change for us to
swap out for something different. XT and Java 64bit is the problem. We are
working toward it.

Thanks a lot Pete and Kevin, I turned off validation with this command
line and it worked:

xep -valid -fo output.fo -out output.pdf

Now I have my 3300-page PDF again.

Is there any way to know when this 64-bit Java bug might be fixed? Looks
like it's been around for a year or so at least.
