I believe that essentially the initial-property-set is much like specifying fo:wrapper around what is calculated to be the first line and setting those properties.
fo:wrapper would not support border as it throws no area.
That does not explain the text-transform not working, I would think it should.

Subject: my problems with using fo:initial-property-set
Hi,
I want to create a <fo:block> having a left and bottom border with two additional requirements:
a) The first line should have all characters in uppercase
b) The first line should have no left border
I tried to use <fo:initial-property-set text-transform=”uppercase” border-left-width=”0mm”/> but it doesn’t work.
Neither are all first line characters in uppercase, nor is the left border suppressed.
Can anybody help me?
Any ideas?
